Coaching for managers and leaders navigating complex organisations
Whether you're stepping up into your first leadership role, moving between organisations, or navigating a career transition, I help managers and leaders in large, multi-stakeholder organisations think clearly, act decisively, and move forward with confidence.
Who I work with
If your work involves balancing multiple internal stakeholders — boards, unions, regulators, government — alongside external ones like customers, suppliers, and competitors, you already know that "just be a good leader" advice doesn't cut it. You need someone who's actually operated in that kind of environment.
I coach managers and leaders working in large, complex, and often highly regulated organisations — including (but not limited to) transport, utilities, healthcare, telecoms, and the public sector — through:
Career transitions — moving up, moving sideways, or moving on
Stepping into a new leadership or management role
Navigating organisational complexity and competing stakeholder demands
Building confidence and clarity in high-visibility, high-scrutiny roles
What I offer
Not open-ended coaching. Not generic career advice. A structured programme that gets underneath what you actually want, takes an honest audit of your market position, builds a concrete plan and ends with you self-sufficient and not dependent on a coach
Why me
I've spent more than twenty years in senior commercial and customer leadership roles including:
Director-level roles with P&L responsibility and hiring at every level.
Navigated contract changes, restructures and industry consolidation from the inside.
Combined with professional expertise as a CMI Level 7 performance coach.
I coach the transition I understand best: yours.
A structured four session programme from clarity to committed action.
Four 45mins one-to-one sessions over approximately three months, by video call, with support between sessions. The arc is deliberate: we start deep, open up the full range of options, commit to a direction, and finish with momentum that doesn't depend on me.
Session 1 — Where are you really? A deep discovery session. We get underneath the surface goal to what you genuinely want from this transition; what's ending, what you want to keep, and what you'd be relieved to leave behind. You'll finish with a written goal statement in your own words which will be the foundation for everything that follows.
Session 2 — What are you working with? An honest audit of your market position; your transferable strengths, your network, and the story your experience tells versus the story you want it to tell. Then we open up the full range of routes available to you, including the ones you haven't considered, and test each against the realities of the industry.
Session 3 — Choosing and committing We review what your exploration has surfaced, sharpen or confirm your direction, and build a concrete plan with dates attached. This session includes practical work on your positioning narrative and preparation for the conversations that matter including interviews, negotiations, or the pitch for the role you want.
Session 4 — Momentum and independence Held two to three weeks later, so there's real progress to work with. We review what's moved, work through what hasn't, and refine the plan against reality. The session finishes by building your own toolkit for the road ahead so you leave self-sufficient.
Contact Me
Start with a conversation, not a contract.
Every engagement begins with a free, informal call with no pitch, and no pressure. We'll talk about where you are and whether this programme is the right tool for it. If it isn't, I'll say so.
